My name is Chad Tucker. Originally from Hickory, NC, I am currently starting a new church, Living Stone Baptist Church, in Rocky Mount, NC. I am married to a wonderful and godly wife, Michelle, who fits well the description of the excellent wife in Proverbs 31. She is a stay-at-home mom who balances home, life, and ministry, while homeschooling our three children: Hannah, Eli, and Leah.
I graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological College (BA) and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.). I am currently pursuing the D.Min. from SEBTS as well.
I am a theologically conservative Southern Baptist with a great interest in the Great Commission Resurgence. Even with my eyes open to the challenges that are ahead, I am tremendously encouraged about the future and direction of the Southern Baptist Convention. As a young pastor, I stand willing to participate and serve in any available capacity. I agree with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000, Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. I am currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
Even though I preach from the ESV and enjoy reading and listening to men of God such as John Piper, John MacArthur, Al Mohler, Nathan Finn, and Mark Driscoll, I do not consider myself reformed or calvinistic. (The ‘L’ in TULIP is my hang-up doctrinally.) I affirm wholeheartedly that God is the sovereign Lord of the universe. He predestines and elects persons to salvation, but does so in such a way as to not violate our free will and human responsibility to repent from sin and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. I resist anything that attacks the sovereignty of God. I resist anything that lessens our passion for missions and evangelism.
